Public Consultation – Proposed reforms for podiatric surgeons

The Podiatry Board of Australia (the Board) is carrying out public consultation on two proposals related to the regulation of podiatric surgeons:

  1. Proposed change to the Board’s Registration standard: Specialist registration for the podiatry specialty of podiatric surgery to require podiatric surgeons to hold endorsement for scheduled medicines

  2. Proposed draft Guidelines for practitioners undertaking podiatric surgery.

These proposals respond to recommendations 2.a and 2.c from the Independent review of the regulation of podiatric surgeons (independent review).

We invite practitioners, members of the community and other stakeholders to give feedback on these proposals.
